How to Grow Blueberries in Containers

Blueberries are one of the most popular berries and people’s most favorite. They can be used in sweet dishes, beverages, and salads. They also have a lot of health benefits if you eat them daily. They are high in nutrients and low in calories. They have nutrients like fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and manganese in them. Hence, this is why one must consider growing them at home. Here are a few tips to grow blueberries at home.

Container – to start with, use a 5-gallon container, with a good drainage system to have healthy roots. Keep the containers in full sun.

Soil – blueberries are acid-loving plants. They prefer soil with a very low pH level from 4 to 5.5. To your soil, add potting mix, some pine bark, and compost.

Fertilizers – fertilize your blueberries once a year. Do not use fertilizers containing nitrates or chlorides.

Water – keep watering your blueberries frequently. Make sure to check if the soil is moist. To slow down evaporation from the surface of the soil, use some mulch.
