Easy Vine Plants to Take Care of

Being a plant parent is not a walk in the park. You have pulled the hard yards and make sure that your plants have enough space and tendering. Vine plants can be a bit complicated, as they have very specific requirements as to how they can be kept, and need something to latch onto and grow around. It doesn’t always have to be difficult to grow vine plants though. Here are a few vine plants you can easily tend to.

  • Grape ivy – a perfect vine plant for beginners. Grape ivy got its name because its leaves are similar to grapevines. It grows up to 6 to 10 feet high. Requires partial shade and well-drained soil to thrive well.
  • Creeping fig – make sure you keep your pets away from the creeping fig as it is toxic to them. It grows up to 10 to 15 feet high. Requires bright indirect sunlight and well-drained soil to thrive well.
  • Kangaroo vine – it grows up to 7 to 10 feet high. Requires indirect sunlight and well-drained soil to thrive well. Make sure your kangaroo vine doesn’t get direct sunlight as it causes the leaves to burn.
  • String of pearls – also known as string of beads. It grows up to 1 to 2 feet high. Requires full or partial sunlight and sandy, well-drained soil to thrive well. It is toxic if consumed, so make sure you keep it away from your children and pets.
  • Black-eyed Susan vine – these plants have flowers that are yellow, white, or orange in color and have black centers. It grows up to 3 to 8 feet high. Requires 6 hours of direct sunlight and well-drained soil to thrive well.
